We have a blast @ Wood Mountain Rodeo. We are joined by George Popescul and an enthusiastic fiddler.

We were pleased to be part of the Weyburn Cancer Jam this summer.

2005 - A Centennial Summer to Remember

In 2005, during the Saskatchewan's Centennial, Glenna Switzer and Blackwater had a chance to travel to some wonderful places in province.  We also met some wonderful people!

We played at Eston Rodeo, June 11, 2005.

We were one of the only two bands chosen in Saskatchewan to perform @ the Canadian Western Farm Progress Show 2005 .

We got to perform at the 100th anniversary of Westeel.

Only a farm girl would know how special that was.

Geoff dragged himself out of the oil patch to come back and perform with us

PBR ...We got some great bullriding action.

We also performed in the beer gardens. Marshal did a great job of being soundman. (Just don't call him a "sound Person")

When asked how we sounded, he said "not so pretty bad!"

Our next performance was at the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw. What a way to celebrate the Centennial!

They stayed open late after our performance and let us tour.

No, Glenna, you can't drive the train!

Tugaske - poster

We played at Tugaske on July 1st, then were off to perform at Edam for July 2nd.

Before heading off to Edam, we took a pitstop at Renee's house (my highly efficient website builder)

Jerry and Earl relax on Renee's deck

The folks at Edam took this groovy picure from the top of the elevators and sold them as postcards.

In Edam, I found one of my oldest friends, Barb.

Only in Edam would they build sandcastles in the middle of the dance! Try that in New York

July 8 & 9 were spent at the beautiful Wood mountain Regional Park and Stampede Grounds for the CCA Alumni Reunion! My friend Chris on the tamborine.

July 16 @ Richmound Centennial Celebration. I didn't know there were people north of Maple Creek, but there are and what a great bunch!

Off to Medicine Hat to record some MP3s for our web site. 1st time in a recording studio..I was petrified. Thanks Tim Herman: great guitar playing!

Me and Earl having a 'peaceful' coffee break.

Then it was a dream come true. We played my hometown of Central Butte. It was also my high school reunion. What a way to celebrate the centennial.

August 12 @ Waldheim. The mayor shook our hands and Velida gave us a tour and even fed us @ 1a.m before we took off for our next gig. Thanks Velida!

After a 12 hour trip we arrive at Gladstone Rodeo...a little sleepy. Wakey wakey Earl!

Aug. 20: Whitewood Rodeo: The nicest decorations I've ever seen.

Back Home in Swift Current...just in time

for some great fireworks.

Happy Centennial Saskatchewan!
